He was the son of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his wife Sarah. The angels brought the good news of his birth to Ibrahim and Sarah as they were passing by on their way to the cities of the people of Lot to destroy them for their disbelief and wickedness. Allah mentioned him in the Quran as a “knowledgeable boy” and made him a prophet to guide people to do good deeds. From his lineage came Prophet Yaqub (Jacob).
Biography:
The Quran provides only brief glimpses of the story of Ishaq (Isaac). His birth was a miraculous event foretold by angels, and the news included the name of his son, Yaqub (Jacob). His birth occurred years after the birth of his brother Ismail (Ishmael). Sarah’s heart was comforted by the birth of Ishaq and his son Yaqub. However, we do not know much about Ishaq’s life or how his people responded to him. All we know is that Allah praised him as a righteous prophet.
